When are you going to start on site?
Westfield recently instructed contractors to start early site preparation works including beginning the excavation works, delivery of site huts and provision of temporary electricity supplies, in preparation for the start of construction A construction start date has not yet been announced.
How long will it take to build?
Westfield expects the centre to take three years to build.
Why has work not yet started?
Projects of this size and type are inevitably complex. Large-scale multi-million pound developments take time and careful negotiation to deliver. Westfield cannot give a specific date for a start on site. However for a development of this size and complexity, Westfield Bradford is running to schedule. Considerable progress is being made to deliver a top quality retail development.
Which retailers have signed up?
Key retailers signed up are Marks & Spencer and Debenhams. Other retailers are in solicitors’ hands and will be announced once all legal contracts have been concluded.
What will be in the Westfield Bradford centre?
Debenhams and Marks and Spencer have already signed as the centre’s anchors. There will also be around 100 speciality shops on two levels. The centre will also include residential apartments and 40,000 sq ft of office space plus 1,800 parking spaces.
