Westfield can confirm that the Broadway development will be anchored by Debenhams and Marks and Spencer. Bhs will not be located within the scheme. Under the terms of the Compulsory Purchase Order of their old store, Bhs were entitled to compensation if they did not have a store in the new centre. This arrangement with Bhs pre-dates Westfield’s involvement in the Broadway scheme.
For some time now, we have been looking at configuring the retailer units to enable us to satisfy the requirements of some retailers interested in having a larger store within the scheme. This agreement with Bhs allows us to satisfy these retailer requirements by dividing this unit into several larger units. Retailer interest in the development is strong and we are looking forward to announcing further retailers soon.
