Cycling


Derby benefits from a comprehensive network of cycle lanes and cycle parking facilities. New cycle lanes have been installed on the roads surrounding our centre to make bicycle access easier and safer.

There are 6 areas for cycle parking around Westfield Derby, providing a total of 48 spaces:

Area 1: The Spot with racks for 16 bicycles
Area 2: Near London Road pedestrian entrance with racks for 8 bikes
Area 3: Outside M&S, on the corner of London Road, for 8 bikes
Area 4: In front of M&S on Traffic Street with racks for 8 bikes
Area 5: Outside Debenhams on Traffic Street with racks for 8 bikes

There are also additional cycle parking facilities throughout the city centre, including lockers in Chapel Street and Assembly Rooms car parks and on Green Lane, which are also free of charge.

Cyclists need to provide their own padlocks to secure their bicycles.

Derby is part of the National Cycle Network, which includes 5,000 miles of safe, attractive, high quality routes for cyclists, and provides a major amenity for walkers and wheelchair users. Derby city has 4 routes, which form part of the National Cycle Network:

Route 6, leg 603 - Derby to Leicester
Route 6, leg 604 - Derby to Nottingham
Route 54 - Derby to Lichfield
Route 68 - Derby to Berwick-upon-Tweed
