Westfield Stratford City is the start of the Olympic legacy and the comprehensive regeneration of Newham. Having invested £1.45 billion in creating a new retail and leisure destination and £150 million into public transport the Company is keen to ensure economic prosperity in the area.

Westfield Stratford City is set to become the epicentre of opportunity for the next generation of east Londoner. When young people think about tangible opportunities amid the multitude of development in the area (including the Olympics), they will identify with the employment in Westfield Stratford City and the social and cultural opportunities available for them, including the cinema, bars and restaurants.

Having established over 27,000 jobs throughout the construction of the site, Westfield Stratford City will also provide over 10,500 permanent new jobs upon opening, 2,000 of which will be to local long-term unemployed.

Westfield Stratford City has not only provided much-needed employment & training opportunities for the local area, it has raised the profile of the East End of London and will continue to do so with further planned developments post-Olympic Games.
