Studio East

East London is home to 1.9 million people, including 11 separate communities of over 10,000 foreign nationals. It’s also London’s creative quarter, with more creative people per capita than any other European city. Aswell as housing some of the biggest global retailers, Westfield Stratford City will reflect the diversity, talent and creativity of East London’s brightest designers. To celebrate this cultural heritage, Westfield has launched Studio East, an initiative to identify and nurture emerging British talent across fashion, design, product design and the environment. This talent will be awarded an annual bursary or a design commission and will be provided with a commercial gallery space in Westfield Stratford City which opens in 2011.
