We know the old rule: when putting on makeup, lipstick goes on last. But we also know that Creative Director Alessandro Michele isn’t one set great on convention, so for Gucci’s new makeup line, he’s put lipstick front and centre – and a formidable 58 shades of lipstick at that.
The lipstick range precedes the full makeup collection launch on May 28th (mark your diaries), and sees the Creative Director continue his love affair with the melding of old with new that has kept the fashion world on the edge of their seats for four years now.
Available now at Gucci, The Village Westfield London, the range features 3 formulations: the satin-finish Rouge à Lèvres Satin, the sheer Rouge à Lèvres Voile, and Baume à Lèvres, a lip balm with a translucent finish. Michele also pays lip service to design, exploring vintage packaging to create cases that fuse retro details with Gucci’s contemporary aesthetic.
