ALL STAR LANES
SHAKE SHACK
There's a reason this Manhattan-born burger chain has a global following. If you've feasted on the cult favourite Shack Stack or Shack Burgers before, try something different with a crisp-fried Portobello mushroom Shroomburger. We wouldn't say no to a generous side of crinkle cut cheese fries and a creamy hand-spun chocolate thick shake either.
THE COW
When you're skimming the all-day menu at The Cow, it's hard to go past the eponymous Cow Burger. It boasts a fluffy cream bun, melted cheese, fries, ketchup, creamy mayo, pickle, and the indisputable jewel in the crown: boozy onions.
GIRAFFE
Another vegetarian option (is this Burger Blasphemy yet?), the Vada Pav is worthy of a special mention. Originating in Mumbai, the dish was a filling lunch for mill workers before it became a popular snack throughout the city. With potato fritters coated in Bombay spices, Giraffe's burger is balanced out with fresh salad, crispy onions, yoghurt, coriander and a sweet chutney.
CABANA BRASILIAN BARBECUE
Rio might not be renowned for it's burgers, but Cabana Brasilian Barbecue delivers the goods with a flame-grilled chicken burger, complete with tomato, lettuce and Malagueta mayo. If you can't handle the heat of their famed Spicy Malagueta marinade, opt for chicken marinated in their sweeter Guava sauce instead.
GOURMET BURGER KITCHEN
If you sit firmly on the 'No' camp in the 'Pineapple On Pizza' debate, the Kiwiburger may not be your cup of tea. Yet with a juicy 6oz beef patty, layers of pineapple and beetroot, a fried egg, thick slices of melted mature Cheddar, crunchy salad and lashings of mayo and relish, it somehow works.
BYRON HAMBURGERS
The king of 'Proper Hamburgers' has brought back a crowd favourite to celebrate the restaurant's 10th Birthday this month. The Gizzmo includes delicious gooey welsh rarebit made from Barber's cheddar, smoked Applewood cheese and stout, plus lettuce, tomato, red onion, mayonnaise. Get it while it's still here!
BILL'S
Just for the day, Bill's are cooking up a Limited Edition Rarebit Burger. Not for the faint of heart or stomach, you can expect a sesame bun filled with a juicy beef patty, tasty rarebit, streaky bacon rashers, lettuce, tomato, red onion and a secret sauce, accompanied by the crunchiest fries.
