Following the outbreak of COVID-19, we partnered with the NHS to help them deliver services to the local Newham area.
In July 2020, a plasma donor centre opened at Westfield Stratford City to take donations of blood plasma from those that had recovered from COVID-19. Teams from the NHS and Westfield worked closely to turn the retail unit into a fully functioning donor site that met all necessary requirements. Through opening the site, we were able to support the local Newham community which had been heavily affected by the pandemic.
In collaboration with the NHS, we converted 2 empty retail units into a vaccination centre to support the national effort to suppress coronavirus, with over 1000 vaccines administered on peak days in the units, both leased free of charge to the NHS. The first opened in January 2021, while the second opened in July 2021 in order to cope with the demands of the national fight against COVID-19.
The NHS always need more blood and plasma donors. Book your appointment online.
